Pondering "Tradition"

I've been a Mom for 33 years. I've been a florist for 36.....wait.

(I started in the little shop in April of 1967....um, 7 from 15...carry the one....ohmigawd! It's been 38 years of this. Well, no wonder!)

(Aw'right... I'm not good with numbers either...lol)

I AM pretty sure I've been a Mom for 33, though, and in that time we've rarely celebrated Mother's Day ON the day. I'm usually working, ya know?

When J and E were little, they'd bring home some sweet 'Mom' thing they'd made at school to warm my squishy maternal heart.
In later years, we'd maybe do something fun together during that week.
In the last few years though, we've celebrated on the weekend after Mother's Day.

And this year we'll mess with "tradition" again. From now on, the 14th of May will be an anniversary celebration for J&B, with a little Mother's Day thrown in....and the kick-off will be next weekend, when we get together with both families, and lots of friends, to celebrate J&B's faith in the institution of marriage and their devotion to each other.
Not a bad way to celebrate Mother's Day, huh?
