A brown paper wrapper?

I have a friend who lives in one of the Southern States...one of the "Battles-of-the-Civil-War" states. Like a Tom Robbins novel in the Religion section, he's a liberal among ultra-conservatives.
Things are fine as long as he doesn't discuss politics or religion with his neighbors or pretty much anyone else...as long as he doesn't say who he is...can you imagine that here in Minnesota?

(When we discuss current events, it's unsatisfying because we so thoroughly agree. lol )
I dearly want him to subscribe to The New Yorker so that he and his wife wouldn't feel so alone, but.....it would come in the mail and the post office people would SEE it. Yikes.
Mine never comes in brown paper either.
